Today, August 31, 2011, at approximately 4:00a.m., the beloved Spiritual Leader of The Moapa Southern Paiutes of Nevada, Mr. Leroy Spotted Eagle, was called home by his Creator.
He had been recovering from recent multiple by-pass surgeries and was in intensive care at University Medical Center at the time of his demise.
Lucy Spotted Eagle was called to the hospital at approximately 2:00 a.m., and was notified that Leroy's heart had stopped and the cardiac team was called and they worked on him non-stop to revive him but was not successful.
From each of us whom were honored to have known Leroy, privileged to have been counted as friends with Leroy, each of us whom had unwavering respect and love for Leroy, our deepest and heartfelt condolences are extended, to the surviving family and his dear wife, Lucy Spotted Eagle. He was a great Leader of his people, and a great man and will be sorely missed by each of us.
